NCC and TeliaSonera have chosen to extend their cooperation regarding a new head office for TeliaSonera at Kristineberg in western Kungsholmen. The parties have agreed to continue their collaboration, despite not having obtained the required decisions from public authorities during 2013, which was part of the original agreement.

The office building in Kristineberg will be developed for TeliaSonera’s operations and comprise approximately 50,000 square meters of floor space. The lease had been conditional on a detailed development plan being approved and an official decision being obtained in 2013. The parties have entered into a new cooperation agreement to manage the delays pending the detailed development plan and the required official decisions.
“Through our close and excellent cooperation with TeliaSonera, we have been working jointly to develop a modern workplace that will support their business activities for many years to come. We continue to be proud to have TeliaSonera’s trust. In the present situation, it is difficult to say when we will obtain all the necessary decisions, but we aim to initiate construction as soon as possible,” commented Carola Lavén, Business Area Manager, NCC Property Development.
The building will be a GreenBuilding property and certified in accordance with the international environmental certification system, BREEAM. This means, for example, that thorough consideration will be given to the indoor environment, ecology, lifecycle and waste, as well as energy and water consumption. The plan is to provide heating based on renewable energy through geothermal energy.
An expansion of inner-city Stockholm to encompass Kristineberg is currently under way, whereby the district will be merged into the inner city. The aim is to join together the various parts of western Kungsholmen to make it feel more vibrant than before. Kristineberg will offer new housing, workplaces, stores and marketplaces, as well as being the location of TeliaSonera’s operations in the Stockholm area.
